Directly behind the National Park Center, you walk through a tall, wooden tree gate directly into Hainich National Park. A beautiful photo opportunity and a great starting point for hikes in the Hainich.

The forest promenade is barrier-free and suitable for both young and old. The car park on the treetop path is the only one in the national park that costs 4 euros. The Thiemsburg restaurant, a snack bar, a large adventure playground for kids, the treetop path with root cave and an exhibition on the national park await you. There are free toilets and various information boards. Tip: if you want to go on the treetop path, even in the best weather and in the season, the off-peak times, right when it opens and even better two hours before it closes, are ideal.
