Recommended as an ascent. Not so much as a descent, because it is a relatively narrow, blind path with a lot of traffic. Partially hollows with gravel

This entire area, from Spaubeek, Genout, Schimmert, to Hulsberg, has a lot of gravel paths. I go there very often and I still discover new trails.

Orsbach Castle is a historic castle located in the village of Orsbach, just across the border from Aachen in Germany, near Limburg. The castle dates back to the Middle Ages and has been renovated several times over the centuries. Today, it is privately owned and occasionally used for cultural events or private functions.

The tower of this castle served as one of the eight signal and surveillance towers of the Aachen Empire, between which acoustic and optical communication took place within the imperial territory and with the city center itself. Thus, the castle also became part of the land defense of the Aachener Landgraben, the border fortification of the Aachen Empire, built near Orsbach in 1453. This fortification was constructed between 1419 and 1568 according to a treaty between the Duchy of Jülich and the Free Imperial City of Aachen, and extended furthest westward here in Orsbach.
