We used the great, spacious bathing jetty for a morning swim before continuing on the Gendarmstien, it was wonderful. Particularly noteworthy is the wheelchair ramp on the side, which allows for easy access to the water. The section is very touristy, it can be noisy there in the evenings. Over Pentecost, the local sports school offered an extensive program, which perhaps explains the number of people and the noise level.

After a long stretch of road, a bit of civilization is quite nice. Sonderburg is certainly worth a separate journey.
