Chapel of Victory Maria Ruggisberg The Chapel Maria zum Siege in Ruggisberg was commissioned in 1684 by the abbot of the Obermarchtal monastery, Niklaus II, in memory of the victory over the Turks at Vienna in 1683. The chapel was consecrated in 1685 by the auxiliary bishop of Constance and has been owned by the Catholic Church community of Häggenschwil since 1883. The baroque high altar depicts a scene from the battle against the Turks at Vienna and is framed by painted wooden figures of the bishops Martin of Tours and Nicholas of Myra. The chapel is an important historical and cultural heritage that celebrates the history and the victory over the Turks.
