The ancient parish was mentioned during the first official visit of Ivan the Archdeacon in 1334, although it is considered much older. We confirmed this during the reconstruction of the church floor in 2014. Namely, the archaeologists came to the discovery during excavations that the current church lies partly on the foundations of a Gothic church from the 15th century, as evidenced by the found graves and objects from that period. An even bigger discovery was when the foundations were discovered under the bark, which pointed to an even older church from the Romanesque era from the 12th century.
