This is one of many entrances to Halleck Park with easy parking right near the arboretum. Halleck Park includes a number of facilities including multiple baseball fields, a running track, cart racing track, tennis courts and children's playgrounds. The arboretum's paths and tracks are ideal for hikes, walks, runs and easy bike rides.

The recreation area is 450 acres, with a 105 acre reservoir. There is a great paved multi-use trail around the lake and a lovely green space next to the lake. Encompassing 70 acres of parkland, Halleck Park has an array of amenities, including walking trails, athletic fields, playgrounds, shelters, and a large pavilion. Papillion Lake, covering a 4-acre area, is stocked with fish throughout the year, providing an opportunity for fishing anytime. A trail goes around the perimeter of the lake, extending even to a little island situated in the middle.
