Volkswagen Arena The Volkswagen Arena is the football stadium of the men's Bundesliga team VfL Wolfsburg. It opened in autumn 2002 and has space for around 30,000 spectators. History From 1954 to 1957, the boathouse of the Wolfsburg Canoe Club was built north of the Mittelland Canal; it was later expanded several times.
