Mini monastery with a beautiful view of Zarautz

Deceiving climb due to its low mileage, but tough, with a very strong start. As soon as we leave the road to Zestoa we have a 100 m ramp at 10% followed by another 50 m at 8% that do a lot of damage throughout the climb.

Good stretch of narrow and quiet road on the seafront. It passes through several beaches and through the town of Getaria. The views are magnificent and the enjoyment of the sea breeze at the stroke of a pedal is unforgettable.

Well, I had a lot of fun on this hiking trail, but komoot sent me here in bike mode. I had a gravel bike and long-distance bike luggage with me - without my MTB technique I would have pushed this section. In general, the entire route between Zumaia and Zarautz, which komoot proposes via the beautiful hinterland and the official Camino route, is not for those not willing to push. With luggage and without MTB, the majority is not mobile. Next time I'll either cycle along the coast and accept the cars or follow the MTB route over the mountain ridge and hope I don't have to push as much 😁
