The 1582 m high local mountain of Trigrad ("Orpheus' rock") offers a stunning panorama, in good weather to the Pirin and Balkan mountains.

The (very small) local bear museum is also located here.

Orpheus is said to have entered the underworld here. naja😉 Still the cave is worth seeing, but if you have space or are afraid of heights, you should save yourself. There are very steep stairs up ... but !!!! You don't have to go back, the cave exit is a few 100 meters further down the gorge.

The stalactite cave is spacious and beautiful. The entire cave is nowhere near accessible. The accessible part is still extensive and offers plenty of impressions. Even the driveway is impressive. It leads south from Teschel through the largest canyon system in Bulgaria.

The Trigrad Gorge is scenic. A special attraction here is the Devil's Throat, a cave through which a torrent flows. That is acoustically impressive. There should now also be a via ferrata on the rock faces here. There is good food, for example, at Banko on the left-hand side at the entrance to Trigrad.

Trigradski Skali - hut and restaurant at the entrance to Trigrad - highly recommended!

In addition to the Teufelskehle, this via ferrata to the cave is one of the attractions of the Trigrad Gorge. But even without the cave or the via ferrata, the Trigrad Gorge is very impressive. It is worth crossing by car or on foot on the little-used road. The mountain stream next to the road is also used for cooling.
