The still quite traditional-looking place offers, in addition to an idyllic plaza, some beautiful corners to explore. The large church forms the "superior" center of Kouméika.

The lonely little church above Neochório shines in a picturesque white and blue.

The old church suffered severe damage from the 2020 earthquake. Everything is locked all around. Unfortunately not the only one on the island.

Here we have strengthened ourselves in peace after the strenuous hike. The ouzo flowed freely in the kafenion. We ate wanderlust well there.

Beautiful mountain village with a plateia lined with very old and very large plane trees. There is a tavern and a kafenion there

The mighty plane trees in the center are namesake of the place.

The lanes in the center are so narrow, so that sometimes even one or the other tavern table has to be cleared away temporarily for passing cars. Unfortunately, time and again tourists drive up to the Platiá in the center, knowing that there is also parking on the outskirts of the village and it is certainly not detrimental to health, if sometimes moves a few steps away from the vehicle. ;-)
