Hrvatska Kostajnica, a long-standing and proud Croatian city whose position has determined its role, is located along the banks of the Una River and is located in Sisak-Moslavina County. The old town of Zrinski is a fortress from the 13th century, which during the wars with the Turks won the title of Defender of Croatia. In the second half of the 13th century, the princes of Kostajnički established their center on the Una coast. Most of the information about the construction of the fort dates from the 14th and 15th centuries. The fortress was of great importance to the Zrinskis because it provided them with defense. The name Zrinski grad is reminiscent of the Siget hero Nikola IV. Zrinski.

The bridge in Hrvatska Kostajnica over the river Una. The interesting thing is that the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina does not pass here along the river Una, but on the other side is part of the Croatian territory where the Old Town of Zrinski is located.

Great climb to again excellent form shape. Grade is cca 5-6%. When you reach the top of the hill you have 6-7 km of downhill towards Podgradci.

Road with very good new tarmac. Little traffic during the week. Perfect for descending by bike from Kozara National Park. Also good for climbing by bike to Kozara National Park. However take care in high summer (high temperatures) since there is not much shade by trees (at least in the morning and early afternoon).
