Beautifully situated small lake, with beautiful reflections in calm weather

The Muttenjoch is beautiful. From up here, you can see a small lake. It's a bit windy up here, so we postpone our snack until later, where we find a sheltered spot with a magnificent view. If it's calm here at the pass, it's also a great place to take a break with a view.

The Friedrichshafener Hütte is a beautiful little hut located on my lake. When you walk down from the Muttenjoch and suddenly it's in front of you, it's a magnificent sight.

From the Friedrichshafener Hütte you have to carry your bike over the Schafbichljoch and reach the beautiful Schottensee, then you have to push down to the Fassulalm. Only from here the path is rideable up to the Konstanzer Hütte. Conclusion: Hands off with e-bike. You won't make it! Up to the Friedrichshafener is OK. My tip is to stay overnight there and the next day go down to Kappl See and Wiesberg and then back to St.Anton. That makes more sense. Believe a local!!!

In strong foehn winds we find it quite a dangerous route, especially the last part seen from the Neue Heilbrunnerhütte side, such as on Thursday September 6th.

It all sounds pretty good, but from the Friedrichshafener Hütte, the ascent by bike is impossible! We are very experienced bikers, but something like this is not feasible and definitely not recommended!

Beautiful, remote lunar crater landscape. With the mountain bike from the Heilbronner Hut towards the Friedrichshafener Hut it is a real climb that is torture even when pushing. In dry conditions it is also dusty and slippery. The descent towards the Friedrichshafener Hut is sometimes technical, but overall easy to ride. If you have the strength and time, we recommend the detour to the summit, from where you can enjoy a fantastic view.
