Superb place to enjoy a good ice cream, as I did during my crossing of Germany. And what magnificent sunshine I had that day.

The Saarlodri traffic lights in Saarbrücken, which show well-known cartoon characters as traffic light men, are mainly located in the area of the Old Bridge near St. Johanner Markt. Eight of these special traffic lights were installed in the city center in July 2019 to guide pedestrians safely across the street.

Beautiful cycle path, but can be a bit uneven due to roots 🚴🏻

Very close by is the Hotel Fährhaus on the one-way street "Zur alten Fähre" (signposted from the bridge). It offers a very quiet and affordable stay with free parking and very friendly hosts. From there, the best way to reach Saarbrücken city center (approx. 6 km) is to cross this bridge and take the Saar Cycle Path on the left bank of the Saar River (car-free). On the right bank, the route is a bit longer and more circuitous, going around the marina.

It's always nice when a city tour has its own individual traffic lights.

I find it a bit too easy but it's perfectly adequate for riding out as it's very flat and has almost no incline.
