Between Peer-centrum and the church villages of Kleine-Brogel and Wijchmaal lies Molhem, a virtually uninhabited area where peace and quiet reign. It is a unique nature reserve between the Dommel and the Peerderloop. A colourful variety of stream valleys, meadows, fields and forests forms the backdrop. It is this area that our distant ancestors chose to bury their loved ones. Here on Molhem there are also 5 prehistoric burial mounds to be seen. These burial mounds are probably part of a burial field from the period 800 to 500 BC. Not only in Peer but also in the church village of Grote-Brogel there is an extensive prehistoric burial field. In 1959 and 1960 archaeologists investigated 2 burial mounds on the Molhem and about 70 burial mounds in Grote-Brogel. The urns that were found are preserved and exhibited in the Gallo-Roman Museum in Tongeren. The military air base in Peer, also known as Kleine-Brogel air base, is an important military site in Belgium, located in the province of Limburg. This air base plays a crucial role in the defense of Belgian airspace and is part of the NATO infrastructure. The base is mainly known for its use in fighter aircraft and its strategic location in the north of Belgium.

Kleine-Brogel Air Base is an active military base that is sometimes visible due to the take-off and landing of fighter jets above the green Limburg landscape. Around the base are quiet roads and cycle paths, where you can occasionally catch a glimpse of impressive aircraft in action.

July 23, 2024, Sint-Hubertus Chapel

Shaded by four lime trees, surrounded by lawn and beech hedge and provided with a brick sidewalk, south-north oriented, neo-Romanesque house of worship, from 1892-93, built under Father Jonckers. There used to be an older place of worship, long since dilapidated, the date of its foundation is unknown. Pastor Van Dommelen (1709-37) had this former chapel restored around 1710. On September 14, 1722, the aldermen of Wijchmaal testified that the chapel had been restored, so that mass could be said there again. In 1830 it was completely restored and rededicated by Father Simons. This former place of worship is indicated on the Ferraris map (1771-77) and in the Atlas of Neighborhood Roads (1845) and in l.g. atlas Chapelle de St. Hubert. Every year at the beginning of November, St. Hubert's celebration, namely Holy Mass, followed by the consecration of bread and the blessing of the animals.
