These boardwalks allow you to cross the fen (moorland) with dry feet. Sometimes narrow, sometimes wide – always exciting 💪

Toyism | Bliissem | 2016 | Polyester/Acrylic | 200 x 300 x 50 cm | De Haar, Assen Moto GP Upside Down Once a year, the world is turned upside down. Motorcycles roar, fire crackles from the roaring engines, and hay bales pile up on the perilous bends. Young Giacomo Agostini gazes with fascination at the bright colors and glittering chrome, while inhaling the scent of burnt rubber. Young boys like him dream of motorcycle adventures, lured by the lauded winner. Agostini quickly emerges as a worthy competitor to the veterans. With his fast bike, he races through the bends, overtaking other riders left and right. He is encouraged by a young beauty who throws him lascivious kisses, yearning for more. As Agostini rounds the final bend, his skirts billow with the speed of his bike and he feels victory coursing through his body. Champagne pops from the bottles and when he

The park opened its doors for the first time on July 24, 1992. Vakantiepark Oranje, originally called Pipodorp, opened a few years later. It comprises approximately 250 holiday bungalows, colorfully painted by artist Chris Veldhof as caravans, inspired by the TV series Pipo the Clown. Disappointing visitor numbers led to this section being the first to close in 2014. In October of that year, a new purpose was found for the park: Van der Most leased it to the COA (Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers). This asylum center was closed in the summer of 2017. In the spring of 2015, Van der Most decided to close the park in the fall of 2015. Sunday, September 27, 2015, was the last day the park was open to the public. The park had been operating at a loss for several years due to declining visitor numbers. In August 2020, plans were presented to renovate Speelstad Oranje. The adjacent "Pipodorp" was to be transformed into a residential area for retirees. The plan involves separating Pipodorp from the amusement park. "If the residential park were to proceed, it would also become financially viable to reopen Speelstad for children. They also want to organize activities for company and family gatherings, such as bowling, go-karting, and glow-in-the-dark mini golf." At the end of 2020, Van der Most informed the residents of Oranje that new owners had been found to take over Speelstad and the Holiday Park. The holiday homes were renovated in early 2021. These homes will be offered to investors for an annual return. In April 2021, the three new owners who would breathe new life into the amusement park were announced. Rick van der Graaf, Vera Logtenberg, and Jan Logtenberg were supposed to take over the amusement park from Hennie van der Most, with the idea of reopening Speelstad Oranje in May 2022. The amusement park was to become Speelstad 3.0 by renovating the entire park. On October 1, 2021, Hennie van der Most announced that he did not want to sell the amusement park to the trio and withdrew, putting the plans for a reopening of Speelstad 3.0 on hold. The exterior of the building was renovated in 2024.
