A beautiful picnic and rest area on a bend in the Ems River between Groß Hesepe and Geeste. Located somewhat off the Ems Cycle Path, the picnic area is located on a dead-end road and features sturdy wooden benches. Two benches comfortably seat approximately eight people and allow them to enjoy the idyllic Ems landscape.

The Dalum-Wietmarscher Moor is a nature reserve covering approximately 1,580 hectares, located northwest of Lingen. The raised bog has been protected since 2008, although industrial peat extraction continued for a while. Peat extraction has now finally ceased, and the restoration measures are beginning to bear fruit: the rewetted moorland is regularly visited by numerous meadow and wading birds, which you can observe here.

A nice place to take a break on the Emsradweg. Regeneration zone for 👴 👵 and chillout zone for 👦 👧 Please leave the resting place clean. If the bin is full - take your rubbish with you. Why do people, devoid of any reason, carelessly throw their waste and cigarette butts onto the street or into the bushes? "It wasn't intentional; it's not that bad; what else should I do with it; others do it anyway; normally I'm environmentally conscious" – answer the litterers. "These are rationalizations and justifications for one's own socially undesirable behavior"
