Here, between the hamlets of Zeesse and Junne, you find yourself on historic grounds. The pine forests surrounding the sand drifts were planted in 1840 by order of Baron van Pallandt of the Eerde Estate. He wanted to reduce the sand drifts. He unintentionally created a beautiful mix of sand and woodland, including heathland with juniper.
