The Evangelical Church of Heimsen is located in the district of the same name in Petershagen in East Westphalia, in the Minden-Lübbecke district. It was built at the beginning of the 12th century, and the church tower followed in 1205. The church was badly damaged during the Thirty Years' War, but the new pews built in 1664 are still in use today. The church belongs to the Minden church district of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia and is one of the "Weser churches". At the main entrance there is an arched field from the time the church was built, and some of the bells in the tower date back to the Baroque period (1751). The organ was replaced in 1973 by a historical instrument belonging to the miner Mühlhan from Clausthal and expanded to include a Rückpositiv.

"Right on the Weser": That's the motto at the "Heimser Hof", the young, friendly, inviting farmer's café and beer garden in Heimsen (Heimser Str. 51/ corner Fischerhagen, 32649 Petershagen, Heimsen district, Tel. (05768) 9419 750 and 9419 740, mobile: 0172-752 4787, email: justin@heimser-hof.de + info@heimser-hof de ). In 2021, Justin Richter took over the little café on his parents' farm from his father and has since expanded it. Today it is a pretty, well-kept oasis in the countryside with a view and direct access to the Weser. In addition to coffee, homemade cakes and ice cream, there are also cold drinks and delicacies from the grill. Just right for hungry and thirsty cyclists who come here directly on the Stork Route, Mill Route, Wese Cycle Path side route, etc.! Open: Fri 12.00-19.00, Sat 10.00-21.00, Sun 10.00-21.00, in the summer months (in good weather) also Mon-Thu 12.00-19.00. More information at: www.heimser-hof.de!
