Today's church was built in 1867/68 on the northern edge of the town. The old church at the cemetery was deemed “unworthy”. The church was damaged in the Second World War. In 1963 a lightning strike damaged the church. In 1980 it was supposed to be demolished, but that didn't happen. After the fall of communism, the church was repaired and desecrated in 1998. Today it is used for concerts and events.

Small brick building from 1865, which is now only used for cultural events. The Church of Meßdunk is not an open church. A visit is possible in principle, but must be coordinated in advance with the JUST Kultur e.V. association;

The village and castle church of Reckahn is a baroque hall church from the years 1739 to 1741. The oldest reference to a church in Reckahn dates back to the year 1230. The Reckahn church was already a branch church of the parish of Krahne at that time and continued into the 21st century . The previous building was a half-timbered building. The construction time is not known and documents about the appearance and equipment are not available.
