The upper and lower parks of Gorgast Castle Park lie east and west of the Old Oder River, respectively, and were connected by a wooden bridge until around 1960. A new bridge, the Rosenstiel Bridge, was built in 2011. The last tenants until 1945 were the von Rosenstiel family, after whom this small bridge in the park is named.

At this point, Mühlenweg runs parallel to the Alte Oder River over the Eastern Railway line. This type of level crossing is also referred to by the German Railways as a "circuit barrier" (an additional structural feature at non-technically secured level crossings) of pedestrian and cycle paths. These crossings have come under criticism due to crossing problems for electric wheelchairs, cargo bikes, etc., and even accidents.

At this point, the Am Strom country road leads from Manschnow to Neu Manschnow over the Alte Oder, which is called the Letschiner Hauptgraben here. The former postal and military road from Berlin to Küstrin (and further to Königsberg) also ran here, over the former "Padden Bridge," named after the former "Padde" restaurant. Further information can be found on the information board directly at the bridge.

Very little is known about the early history of the church, which is now plastered gray. In 1849, a rectangular brick church with a west tower was built to replace an 18th-century predecessor. This predecessor church contained a wooden baptismal font and communion chalice dated 1592. By the spring of 1945, only the surrounding wall and the east gable remained of the 1849 brick church; the tower had to be partially demolished. In 1954/55, it was rebuilt on the original ground plan, but in smaller dimensions. By 1957, these dimensions had already proven too small. As a result, the east gable was shortened, and a corresponding church tower was added. The chancel was given a barrel vault. The east wall, with its brick stepped gable, is the only external ornamentation. Inside, an eight-sided sandstone font from the new building from 1849 still stands. In 2008, a comprehensive renovation was carried out to repair the moisture damage to the masonry and plaster. The Gorgast Commandery was a branch of the Order of St. John in what was then the Lebus District of the Margraviate of Brandenburg. In 1810/11, the Order of St. John was dissolved in Brandenburg, the estates were nationalized, and Gorgast became a royal Prussian domain. In 1840, the manor house was built on the foundations of the former order house by the Rosenstiel family. Gustav von Rosenstiel was a royal district judge, district deputy, and dike captain of the Oderbruch region (1876–1888) and was married to Clara, the daughter of Gustav Wahnschaffe, the previous tenant. Until its expropriation in 1945, the Rosenstiel family was the large tenant of the castle and estate. Between 1945 and 1990, the Gorgast manor house (also known as the castle) was used as a school, vocational training center, and daycare center.
