Schwalbensee is the starting point for our tours. From here, you can hike or bike. There are several interesting sights within walking distance: Felsenburg, Samuelhöhle, Wachstein, and the Valley of Solitude. Easy bike tours are possible if you stick to the cycle paths and follow the back roads. Off-roading quickly becomes challenging, especially if you head northwest into the Czech part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. There is a small campsite by the lake and three snack points. From schnitzel to langosch, you'll find everything you'd expect from Czech fast food. The operators are all friendly and welcoming, and you feel welcome. There is also a high ropes course right on the square.

We got caught in the rain on the way from Kamenický Šenov, so we were grateful for the nearest pub in Kytlice. Pleasant service, good food and beer, nice atmosphere. Stop here too!

The whole republic knew him, but his life ended prematurely. It has been twenty-five years since actor Tomáš Holý tragically died in a traffic accident between the villages of Kytlice and Polevsko in the Český Lipsk region. He became famous for his leading roles in the films How to Get Dad to the Reformatory, Under the Jezevčí skálou, and On the Poacher's Trail.

Here, unfortunately, one of the best child actors in modern Czech history died. Tomáš Holý was and still is my favorite child actor. When I was little, movies with his cast entertained us the most. Here, unfortunately, in this place in Polevsko, in 1990, his life ended. Honor to his memory!!

Weydlich's Chapel is located right at the upper end of the Paulinengrund valley, which can only be explored by crossing the river. It's not easy but very beautiful to hike along this valley, especially in the upper section, up to the blue hiking trail from Rennersdorf.
