September 16, 2026, Crystal Cascades - Copperiode Dam Track climb

Crystal Cascades - Copperlode Dam Track has a steep but not technical climb out from the Crystal Cascades picnic area. This dirt track has some slippery tree roots and sharp “wait-a-while” or lawyer vines. Climbing higher there is a smoother power line access road and more maintained section. There is plenty of shade on the climb though it can get pretty hot and humid in summer with typical heavy afternoon downpours and thunderstorms. On the climb there are peeking views of the coast and Yorkeys Knob near the halfway electricity pylon.

At the southern edge of Copperlode Dam Park and Picnic Area there is a great viewpoint with intentionally placed covered and uncovered picnic tables. The tables have the best view in the house, overlooking the blue water of Lake Morris, forests and Copperlode lode Dam below. A lot of the uncovered picnic tables still receive shade many times in the day from the surrounding eucalyptus trees. In the panic area there is also a concrete observation deck.

This area at the Crystal Cascades Trackhead near the car park has restrooms, trashcans, a bubbler and shaded picnic areas. The track to the falls is paved and pretty flat, making this area a great place to bring the family to bushwalk and enjoy a lunch at one of the covered picnic tables.

Nice and short walk through the jungle till this small waterfall. The path is not always easy, and it has some slippery sections. Smaller than the Crystal Cascades but more secluded due to the dense vegetation. Great stop!

Gorgeous and breathtaking waterfalls in the middle of the forest but just a few minutes from the parking lot. It's possible to bath in the water and also to climb a bit and reach the top of the cascade. Very nice and easy walk rewarded with an amazing view.
