A somewhat dilapidated rest bench, which however gets nice shade in the afternoon from two walnut trees. A small peach tree has been newly planted. Great view over the sea of vines to the Kleine Kalmit (left), across the Rhine plain to the Odenwald and to the hotel „Leinsweiler Hof“ (top right).

The farmers Johann Baptist Hörner and Barbara, née Körper, had the chapel built in 1864. Whether it was in memory of their five children, who died under tragic circumstances, is unknown, but is suspected. Also in 1864, the chapel became the property of the Catholic church in Herxheimweyher. The donors, however, had committed themselves to the chapel's upkeep for life. The chapel is larger than the usual size of a wayside chapel. A small bell tower with a cross adorns the roof. The porch is supported by two brick buttresses and creates a large vestibule. Furnishings: Altar with a crucifixion group; to the right of the altar was a terra cotta figure of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, and to the left of the altar is a statue of St. Joseph. Since 1918, there has also been a Pietà, which, after several break-ins, is now kept in the rectory for security reasons.

The Herxheimweyher Catholic Church Foundation is responsible for maintaining the chapel. Many thanks for this. The chapel was built by Hörner, a farmer, in 1864. His family suffered tragic deaths of his wife and children, which likely prompted him to have this chapel built. Renovations were carried out in 1922, 1971, and 1983, and the chapel is still a beautiful sight today. Unfortunately, heartless thieves stole valuable furnishings, so the interior of the chapel remains plain.

The parish church of St. Mauritius serves the Catholic parish in Rülzheim. The oldest part of the church is the west tower, built on a late Gothic foundation in 1498. The current nave was built in 1767 and later expanded.
