Opposite the shelter are these two stone benches, which are several decades old or even longer. What were they originally used for? Does anyone happen to know?

A very beautiful memorial place for mourners who have lost their child.

This place is a "MUST-VISIT" - my brother and I were so touched and fascinated by it. A hill where parents can leave a memory of their deceased child - whether it's a planted bush/tree or whatever. This hill is sooooooo beautifully laid out, with covered seating where you can pull out windbreaks on three sides, with changing equipment/options, 2 porch swings, and so on. I take my hat off to the people who started this and keep it in order. Simply TOP and very beautiful. A visit is a MUST if you're in the area.

During the hike, you have a great view of Franconia in some places - places where you can take amazing pictures, whether in spring, summer, autumn or winter. A hike is definitely worth it. The Neuhäuser Keller is also recommended, but unfortunately not the cheapest (my personal opinion: we ate there once, but won't do it again - price / performance (amount for a cellar in the middle of the forest) is completely wrong. The staff are super friendly, the food is good, the beer is good, but for me personally everything is super overpriced! But everyone should find that out for themselves - I think for people who come from other cities / states / countries, these are still reasonable prices - we, who come directly from Franconia, are used to different prices from the past.

Super duper shelter if it does rain. It would be perfect if there was a bench inside so you could have a nice snack. But the location is well chosen - nice view

I love bee meadows - I have some in my garden myself. The little beasts absolutely have to be protected
