This information sign is a great destination to learn about the origin and development of the marsh. I passed by here five days ago on 23.6.26 on my bike tour "Pagensand with return via Klein Nordende".

The road with the terracotta gravel of recycled concrete as a surface is actually not so good for sensitive bicycles. A pity, it could have been done better, e.g. with Hot In-Place Recycling (HIR). It is always a question of whether the municipal administration wants it or not. Justifications for and against will then be found.

I drove past there today, March 13, 2026, on my way to physiotherapy. This factory has been there for a long time, and I see little activity.

The road is supposed to stay as it is; it's designed as a gravel road. Well, it was never really great, but whether it's better now, or whether it stays that way, remains to be seen. A lot of big trees have also been cut down. I don't know why; maybe they were diseased?

I drove past there on my tour: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/tour/2450927699 The existing photo, which shows several wind turbines, looks so familiar, as if I had taken it myself.
