Nice hike through the Parchimer forest to the Sonnenberg and the Vieting robber's cave. There you should definitely scan the label on the figure. Sit on the bench and listen to the legend of the robber Vieting. A pleasant breather. The hike there is well signposted. If you are very quiet you can also occasionally observe game.

Today's nature reserve once offered a perfect hiding place for the robber captain Vieting and his gang. According to tradition, they were up to mischief there in the Middle Ages and caused fear and terror. The gang lurked in the forest and robbed travelers. Despite an intensive search, the great treasure, which is said to have grown steadily over the years, has never been found. https://www.parchim.de/de/tourismus-kultur/tourismus/aktiv-natur/sonnenberge/

South of Parchim is Central Europe's largest stand of Douglas fir. This North American conifer was first planted here 100 years ago. Thanks to the favorable growth conditions, the Douglas fir trees, with a height of 58 meters, even tower above the St. Georgen and St. Marien churches in Parchim.
