In the centre of what was once a large fortress is an earthen mound with the remains of a thick-walled building on top of it, which may be all that’s left of an earlier keep. Such a beautiful place and quite an emotional and spiritual place for me. As Grace mentioned above it has a chapel. That chapel is called Penrhiw chapel, it was built in Drefach Felindre in West Wales. My father lived a very short walk from that chapel, the entire family used to worship in it and my cousin ended up preaching in it (he is alive today at 95+). My dad and his brothers all went away to fight in WW2, they would come back and find solace in 'Penrhiw' for the ones who didn't come back. It was really the spiritual fulcrum for my whole family. I guess I am lucky as every time I go to St Fagan's I can go to Penrhiw and speak to my father once more....
