September 24, 2024, New Quay Old Coastguard Lookout

Built as a lookout in case of military invasion, this lookout, perched high on the cliffs at Newquay, would later be used by the coastguard keeping an eye out for smuggling.

If you dont feel like walking much longer you can shorten the way by crossing over the black path line to get to the other side. It's a nice way and if your tired it's the way to go.

Coastal path cliff edge walk, you can avoid it by taking the higher path. Good place to look for dolphins and nice spots on the hill to sit and admire the view

Cute harbour town with shops, cafes and a little beach. Really nice place to start and finish a coastal walk. If you walk out along the pier you can often see dolphins or porpoise :)
