Enville Hall is a Tudor country house that boasts contrasting architectural styles. Its south front shows off Georgian Romantic stylings, with turrets, battlements and Gothic motifs. Meanwhile, the north facing side is definitively Georgian in character. The splendid landscape of rolling wooded hills and pretty valleys that surrounds the hall has been beautifully exploited to create its landscaped park. Pockets of woodland, sweeping parkland, a series of ponds and striking monuments combine to create a place that is full of interest to the walker.

Enville is a pretty little village occupying an enviable position in what was once the Royal Forest of Kinver. Today the parish still retains 400 acres (162 ha) of woodland, pockets of which surround the village, a patchy cloak on the gently rolling hills and valleys. The village is not far from the popular walking areas of Kinver Edge and Kingsford Forest Park to the south and Highgate Common to the north. Notable buildings in the village include Enville Hall, a grand house, with its Georgian Romantic turrets, battlements and Gothic motifs. The Staffordshire Way long-distance footpath passes through its splendid grounds. Back in the village, the Cat Inn is a picturesque 18th-century pub that serves good food.

This wonderful blend of heath and woodland covers 320 acres (129 ha) and is popular with walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. The sandy heath is gorgeous in autumn, when the purple heather is at its most vibrant, while its woodland, boasting silver birch and pedunculate oak, is a delight to explore. The reserve is an important habitat for a wide variety of wasp and bee species. The sandy paths are pock marked with countless small holes made by ground nesting solitary bees and wasps. It is one of the best places in the country to observe these fascinating insects.
