Lovely little climb with nice surfaces and decent visibility around corners for a single track road. Views of the wolds.

From high up at Settrington Beacon you can enjoy wide views both across the Vale of Pickering towards the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds. A beacon originally stood here in Roman times, lit to warn of a Viking invasion. It was one of a chain stretching from Scarborough and Filey Brigg all the way to York.

Reasonable cycle track, road suitable for trainers at this time of the year (June), can be muddy. Lots of hedgerow birds, flowers, shrubs & trees

Superbly beautiful place about 2 miles (3.2 km) from Millington. My favourite place in inland East Yorkshire.
