I visited on a sunny day, it was warm at the bottom and very windy at the very top. The route was quite easy.

Hike from Sunnyhurst pub, take in Darwen Tower then drop down to The Royal and back through the field for a nice circular route. Great on a lovely day and the pub does food if you want an afternoon snack or meal

Part of the chain of reservoirs that follow the old course of the River Roddlesworth and next connected to Upper and Lower Roddlesworth. It was built in 1850s

A beautiful woodland with old trees. As it is on the Witton Weaver's long distance path; it is incredibly well maintained. And provides some welcome shade on a hot summer's day. The colors in autumn are striking and in winter; as the trees are quite old; their shape is intricate and beautiful.
