Beautiful dense woodland accessed from the Ford at Gateside Rd.

Interesting tower structure off the dam at North Third Reservoir. There is a staff gauge so you can see the depth of water in the reservoir.

On a clear day views open up to fantastic views over the reservoir and all the way to the Trossachs Bens of Ben Ledi, Stùc a'Chròin and Ben Vorlich.

This lovely woodland path is a good descent off Lewis Hill. It follows the river, passes historic lime kilns and finishes by the car parking area at Gateshead Road.

Lewis Hill is a gentle sumit on Sauchie Crag with lovely views to the central belt of Scotland. Part of a good circular walk around the North Third Reservoir.

Use to be a trout fishery A few years ago . But still scenic.

The bridleway does not seem to be used constantly and the surface is a bit mushy & muddy, sinky in places. You have to pick the best ride line in order of potentially getting round. I stoped and turned around at the point of the photo. It was winter January 2025, whilst recent rain and snow turned the surfaces to mush. I would not hesitate to ride this trail again in summer time or in better weather, it is a nice location
