Easy enough to navigate around unless there are lots of pedestrians. In which case it may be best to walk in places. You'll need to lift your bike up the steps to the rocks behind the harbour area to get a good view out to sea - whether that be to Bass Rock or across to Fife. There was a seafood market or fish food stalls at the harbour when I was there (a Sunday). I didn't have a look round it.

I have a Ridgeback Bikes Voyage touring bike and in dry weather found the main path running through no problem. I can imagine this might be a problem if the ground was softer. I simply cycled straight through but saw that there were lots of paths leading off at various points. Well worth exploring either by bike or by foot.

Once past the "dumping ground," you go onto what appears to be like a Land Rover track. The vegetarion was growing in the centre section (between the tyre tracks). A little further along the dirt, part of the track almost disappears, and the grass, etc, take over. The ground was a little slippy in places under the back wheel, but I managed to cycle the whole section, bar a couple of small bits where there were overcrowding nettles, and I was wearing shorts. Definitely not suitable for road bike, unless carrying it. I have a Ridgeback Bikes Voyage touring bike.

Good coffee and tasty food. Indoor or outdoor seating available. Located off the main touristy/pedestrian areas and worth the detour.
