No fallen trees anymore and path all the way. Very steep so likely have to get off and push but good to be able to link two paths up.

When visiting the ruins of Cardross Old Parish Church, take a moment to explore the nearby St Serf's Well, also known as St Shear's Well. This historic holy well, now a drinking fountain within Levengrove Park, once supplied water to the Under Kirkton village. It's a fascinating piece of local heritage that many visitors overlook. Feb 2025 - Gouk Hill path has been buried under 2m or 3m of fallen trees. They're doing an incredible job to re-open it by cutting a trench through the stacks of fallen trees. The path is passable downhill W to E with a bike but very, very rough. It would be a nightmare in the other direction. Take care not to break an ankle or impale yourself when stepping on and over logs. Some deep mud. Click through all the photos for this highlight to see the state of the path and the fallen trees in February 2025.

Balloch is known as the gateway to the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. It's well-connected to Glasgow by train, making it a popular destination for a day trip. There are a nice selection of shops and places to eat, activity providers and the restored paddle steamer, Maid of the Loch, is moored here.
