A very nice idea with the gnomes. Anyone who has one at home who prefers to go exploring can bring it along and place it with the others in the square.

The rest area is really lovely. The table looks like a spool of thread and the stools like thimbles. The spot is in the middle of the forest and it's very peaceful.

On the outskirts of Merscheid lies the well-maintained grassy area with a clubhouse and barbecue hut. Every year on the second weekend in September, the adjacent grounds become the center of the Merscheid Market – with an animal show, tractors, stalls, and a large marquee. It's a lovely place to rest and also a meeting place for the village community.

On the bridge over the Hinterbach near the Lorenzhütte sits a wooden figure depicting a fisherman. Very nicely done.
