Between Trin Station and Reichenau there is an official ban on cycling, the path is exclusively for hikers.

The bike bans are just wishes and requests, legally they are not secured, therefore you cannot be fined (I asked). Nevertheless, out of consideration, one should not bike here between 9 am and 4 pm.

The Rhine Gorge, known as Ruinaulta in Romansh, is one of Switzerland's most impressive natural landscapes. It was formed around 10,000 years ago by the massive Flims landslide and now stretches for about 13 kilometers between Reichenau and Ilanz. Over the millennia, the Anterior Rhine has carved deeply into the mighty scree masses, creating a spectacular gorge with light-colored rock walls up to 300 meters high. The turquoise-green Rhine, the steep rock formations, and the untouched nature make Ruinaulta a popular excursion destination. Depending on the water level, the riverbank invites you to linger, and several spots offer barbecue areas and resting places. Especially on warm summer days, many visitors cool their feet in the pleasantly tempered water. When the water is low, some even wade through shallow areas. Nevertheless, the current should never be underestimated, as it can be fast and strong depending on the water level. The Rhine Gorge is also a well-known area for canoe, kayak, and rafting tours. Whether from a viewing platform high above the gorge or directly on the riverbank – Ruinaulta captivates with its unique landscape and is one of the most beautiful natural wonders of Graubünden.

Just a few minutes above Versam is the Islabord viewing platform. The freely projecting viewing balcony offers an impressive view of the steep, up to several hundred meters high rock faces of the Rhine Gorge and the turquoise-green Vorderrhein deep down in the valley. From here, the immense dimension of the Ruinaulta can be particularly well recognized. The platform is accessible in a few minutes' walk from the car park and is therefore also ideal for visitors who do not want to undertake a longer hike. Information boards provide knowledge about the formation of the Rhine Gorge, which was created by the massive Flims landslide about 10,000 years ago.

The view from the two platforms of the Islabord viewpoint into the Rhine Gorge is unique. On the opposite side, you can see the Il Spir viewing tower. There is a small parking lot in the immediate vicinity, so that people with reduced mobility can also use the viewpoint.
