This is one of the rivers or streams (depending on the season) flowing from the Karawanks into the Drava. Because it's so flat, the water is easily accessible. During my visit in August 2025, during the hot summer temperatures, I was very pleased to have this opportunity to cool off!

The 14th-century Gothic church (patronage of Saint Mary Magdalene) stands before a steep cliff of the Sattnitz River. Its core is Romanesque and features a mighty west tower, raised in the Baroque style (1689). It was first mentioned in documents in 1359. The Gothic choir is slightly off-axis and surrounded by buttresses. The nave and choir feature diamond-shaped star vaults with coats of arms keystones and paintings from the late 14th century.

Please note that the forest path from the Sattnitzschanze to Bergstraße is not passable. Unless you lift the e-bike and weave it under the trees!
