From up here you have a fantastic view down the valley in both directions. The Carl-von-Stahl-Haus, located here, is also highly recommended. Excellent service, friendly staff, and very good accommodation.

The water is very clear, so you can even see the deep-swimming fish. Park benches are perfect for taking a short break and relaxing by the lake.

A steep climb from the Mitterkaseralm (this climb begins quite inconspicuously behind the alpine pasture) brings you back to an elevation of approximately 2000 m (gradient up to 38%). There, the path forks towards Hohes Brett and back to the Jenner mountain station. It's worth it and a different climb than hiking directly from the Jenner mountain station towards Hohes Brett, as the path here is significantly steeper, narrower, and more in touch with nature. We've hiked this route several times, and only when we reached the top did we see other hikers. Once at the top, you're on the border with Austria; sometimes the phone doesn't know which network to search for. When we had questions about the climb from the Mittelkaseralm, the host also gave us good tips on estimating the time. We originally wanted to continue on to Hohes Brett, but that didn't work out.
