The ferry operates between Kasten in Austria and Obernzell in Germany across the Danube and also carries bicycles. It's a popular part of the Danube Cycle Path and is ideal for cycling tours along the border. The crossing is short but very scenic: it offers beautiful views of the Danube and connects two attractive cycling routes. Cyclists should arrive at the landing a few minutes before departure – boarding is straightforward, and the crossing is a memorable moment on any cycling tour along the Danube.

Particularly worth seeing in Obernzell is the former prince-bishop's moated castle from the 15th century, which now houses a ceramics museum.

The branch church in Pyrawang, a district of the Upper Austrian municipality of Esternberg, is dedicated to Saint Peter and is one of the oldest religious buildings in the region. It was probably built before the Esternberg parish church was constructed. Bone finds in the surrounding area provide evidence of a former cemetery near the church. The church is a single-nave building with a central tower crowned by an octagonal dome with an onion dome. Inside is a Baroque high altar with depictions of Saints Peter and Paul. Particularly noteworthy are the High Gothic frescoes from the 14th century, which were uncovered during restoration work in 1982 and are among the few surviving wall paintings of this period in Upper Austria. The church has three bells, which were replaced after a lightning strike in 1810. In 1878, a Lourdes chapel in the form of a grotto with a replica of the "White Lady" was built in the basement of the tower. Today, the church belongs to the Schärding parish of the Diocese of Linz and is open to visitors by appointment. Its idyllic location directly on the Danube makes it a popular destination for cyclists and those interested in cultural history.
