Vinslöv is a former railway town that developed after the Kristianstad-Hässleholm railway was built in 1865. The town is known for its medieval church, which features some of the earliest church murals in Sweden, and for a furniture company, Hedbergs i Vinslöv, whose building is a notable part of the streetscape. Vinslöv gained national attention in Sweden following the 1999 documentary film, "Plötsligt i Vinslöv" (Suddenly in Vinslöv), which followed some of the town's inhabitants.

From 1804 until the 1920s, a water-powered mill stood here. Today, only ruins remain. An information board provides more information about the site.

Beach with a large parking lot along the road. At the north end of the beach (on the right-hand side when viewed from the road) there is a beautifully mown, fenced-off lawn that is perfect for camping. Whether this is officially intended remains to be seen. At least nobody has anything against it, although someone who was apparently in charge was briefly on site during my stay.

Ruins of one of the three old watermills. "Tullkvarn."

No drinking water! Best to ask someone in Verum. The Church has water, but that's taken from the river and has to be boiled or filtered.

Very friendly staff, small campsite. Sanitary is older, but perfectly clean. Little things are available at the reception, for other errands use the supermarket in town. The price includes a visit to the outdoor pool (note the opening hours).

In itself a beautiful bathing beach but in summer there is a lot going on here, then it is more like an outdoor pool. I preferred to look for a quieter place to swim.
