The historic town hall was built in the early 17th century in the Weser Renaissance style. Characteristic features are the gables with semicircular tops ("Welsche Giebel"). Today, the historic town hall houses the registry office, the tourist information center, and the "Ratkeller". On the back of the building, there is a relief plaque from the Gothic period depicting a drinking monkey, which is intended to symbolically express the vice of gluttony or excess. Beautiful old Gothic town hall of the town of Stadthagen on the market square with its many half-timbered houses.
