Beautiful, flat hiking trails in a wonderful, natural path

If you look at the stones in the pictures and know the geology around them, then large sandstone blocks were (and are?) drilled out here. Perhaps these blocks were once transported by rail from Trebgast to Bamberg. This would explain the connection to the quarry, which is quite far from Bamberg. There are also several other sandstone quarries in Upper Franconia with famous customers.

The kiosk at the Trebgast swimming lake is amazing. It's always open in the summer... but no, it's also open in the winter, fall, and spring, unfortunately only when the weather's nice. In any case, I was surprised and delighted when I drove there on a beautiful winter day and the kiosk was open. Great, I immediately ordered a cappuccino and cake. ☕️ 🍰 🚴🏼♂️🚵🏻♂️ 👍 🌞

From here you can easily walk to the Lindauer Moor, to the Spitzeichener Turm, to Trebgast or even to the Rehberg.
