Schloss Philippsburg – located at the southern exit of Braubach – was built between 1568 and 1571 on behalf of Landgrave Philipp II of Hesse-Rheinfels as a future widow's residence for his wife Anna Elisabeth, née Countess Palatine of the Rhine. The "defiant" Marksburg, located above, seemed too inhospitable for this purpose to the Landgrave.

The stations Boppard (today Hauptbahnhof) and Boppard-Bad Salzig are located on the historic left Rhine line. Their development is closely linked to the industrialization of the region. 20th century: The Bad Salzig station developed into an important stop for spa guests after the town was named "Bad" in 1925. Restructuring: The Bad Salzig station was later downgraded to a simpler stop. In June 2001, the Boppard station was renamed "Boppard Hauptbahnhof".

From the Rhine, you have great views of the town of Boppard. We came by ship and were fascinated by this view. It wasn't crowded at all as it is May and it rained now and then. Highly recommended
