The castle park was acquired by the municipality and laid out in its current form between 1982 and 1988. There is a large pond with a pavilion nearby, some sculptures, and many trees that provide shade. You can feel quite comfortable there.

A particularly dramatic episode occurred in 1525 during the German Peasants' War. The peasants, rebelling against the oppression and high taxes of the nobles, laid siege to Neipperg Castle. The siege was fierce and the castle's defenders had to stand up bravely against the attackers. Eventually the Lords of Neipperg managed to repel the siege, but the damage to the castle was considerable. After the war, the castle was rebuilt and reinforced to better withstand future attacks. These events shaped the history of the castle and made it a symbol of the resistance and steadfastness of the Lords of Neipperg.

In the heart of Gemmingen, between the castle courtyard and Wiesenstrasse, is the old stately castle park, which was acquired and renovated by the municipality of Gemmingen in the 1980s. The idea behind it was English gardening. The center of the site today is the castle park pond, which is fed by its own spring, the Murrbach, and mainly by an old pipe from the Losterbach spring. Adjacent to the northern bank is an octagonal wooden pavilion. There are various events, concerts, children's performances and also an open-air cinema. Every two years, the park festival takes place across the entire area, organized by Gemmingen and Stebbach clubs. Not far from the pavilion, on the edge of the path, you will come across a bronze group, the Gänseliesel. It was donated by a Gemmingen citizen. There is also an old war memorial in a clearing in the trees. The castle park is now the green heart of the municipality and is an integral part of community life. (Source: Heilbronnerland.de)

Quote from the owner family von Göler: "Ravensburg Castle, the associated wedding chapel and the marked paths and areas are purely private property. Taking photographs (wedding pictures, photo shoots and the like) on our premises is subject to a fee and is only permitted with our prior written permission - for inquiries about this, please contact us well in advance. In the event of violations, we reserve the right to exercise our house rules accordingly. Outside of our restaurant opening hours (Wednesdays to Sundays), the outer castle courtyard is available for visitors to view. During restaurant opening hours, the inner castle courtyard can also be viewed - after dark there is no access. Please note that a tour of the castle's exterior is not possible or only possible to a limited extent depending on the booking situation/event planning or due to maintenance measures. For safety reasons, it is no longer possible to visit the keep until further notice. The Göler family, the owners, expressly point this out." The Unterschloss Gemmingen is historically significant as the ancestral seat of the Lords of Gemmingen, continuously owned by the family since its establishment as a moated castle around 1274. It's the last of three original castles in Gemmingen and features a 13th-century 'Hexenturm' (Witches' Tower), which is the oldest part of the complex. Its walls and garden also display numerous historical Gemmingen epitaphs.
While not directly in Gemmingen, other significant castles associated with the von Gemmingen family include Burg Hornberg and Burg Guttenberg. Burg Hornberg has been owned by the Freiherren von Gemmingen for 12 generations since 1612 and is known as the stronghold of Götz von Berlichingen. Burg Guttenberg is one of Germany's oldest continuously inhabited castles, owned by the Barons of Gemmingen for over 560 years.
The Unterschloss Gemmingen showcases South German Renaissance architecture, largely from the late 16th century. Key features include a round, brick tower with a carved sandstone spiral staircase, the ancient 'Hexenturm' (Witches' Tower), and a magnificent sandstone entrance portal on the eastern gable side. This portal and a charming bay window are results of a 1592 renovation.
Visitors appreciate the well-preserved historical sites and the beautiful views. For instance, Ravensburg Castle is loved for its panoramic views from the tower and its charming castle garden.
