Thanks to its location, Primosten has always been well-protected. To access the island, one first had to lower a drawbridge. This circumstance made a city gate in its usual form unnecessary. Nevertheless, the residents wanted to build a beautiful gate, so they decided to build it in the middle of town. Today, many small shops and restaurants line the city gate.

Rogoznica is located in the southern part of the Šibenik-Knin County, in a deep bay that is well protected from the wind, only 34 km away from Šibenik. Rogoznica has a 54 km long coastline and a geographical position that places it right in the center of the Dalmatian coast, and is the most prominent part of the Croatian mainland that extends deep into the Adriatic Sea. The position of Rogoznica separates the North and South Adriatic, which is extremely emphasized by the specific climatological behavior in this area, or even more precisely on Rogoznica Cape Planka, where we have a direct collision of climate, winds and sea currents, the battle of 'storm and south'.
