The lighthouse is open to the public from late April to early October. Adults currently pay €2 admission, children up to 14 and students, as well as disabled people €1. Last admission is 6:30 p.m. Dogs are not allowed. The stairs are relatively narrow, especially with oncoming traffic. If you want to go to the upper of the two views, you have to make yourself really small. Even with good weather in the middle of summer, the lighthouse is not crowded and I didn't have to queue. I can only recommend the view all round. The view extends over the harbour, the moles and the beach together with the beach promenade.

The so-called Teepott is a landmark of Warnemünde. Ulrich Müther, a civil engineer from the island of Rügen, designed the striking building with the curved roof. In the Teepot you will find restaurants and souvenir shops. Right next to it is the almost 40 meter high lighthouse, another landmark of the Baltic Sea resort. It was put into operation in 1898. The Warnemünde lighthouse is shown on the poster for the film "Shutter Island" with Leonardo Dicaprio - but nothing more. Because the Hollywood film was not shot on the Baltic Sea. From Easter to early October, the tower is open to visitors daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entry is 2 euros.
