The town center of TELC (Teltsch) is considered so historically significant that it has received special recognition from UNESCO and been designated a World Heritage Site. A television series with the programmatic title "Treasures of the World – Heritage of Humanity" presents these sites, from all over the world and from many eras, to culture-loving viewers in 15-minute films. The episode about Telc is available – albeit only in German – in the ARD media library via the following link =>> https://www.ardmediathek.de/video/schaetze-der-welt/historisches-zentrum-von-telc-teltsch-tschechien-folge-236/swr/Y3JpZDovL3N3ci5kZS82OTMyMTMw

The pond was founded by Zacharias of Hradec in 1565 as a source of drinking water for nearby Telč. It still serves as a backup source today. It is also used for fish farming and there is a nature reserve of the same name here. The area of the pond and its immediate swampy surroundings resemble a taiga. Among the important plants here we can find the southern bubble plant, flowering basil, marsh devil, female fern and others. Many swamp insects, spiders and small vertebrates live here. Mapy.com

Saint Charles Borromeo (1538 to 1584), to whom this church is dedicated, came from a noble family and was Cardinal of Milan. Since one of his interests was education, the Association of Catholic Public Libraries in Germany, founded in 1845, was named after him (if interested, see https://www.borromaeusverein.de/). Saint Charles Borromeo's feast day in the calendar of saints is November 4th. A massive monument is dedicated to him in his Italian homeland (Arona in Piedmont), see: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/highlight/585434

The Gothic castle with a dominant seven-sided tower, hidden in the woods, dates back to the first half of the 14th century. It later grew to include a fort, which was destroyed by the Hussites. The castle itself defended itself against the invaders. During the Renaissance, in the second half of the 16th century, it was transformed into a hunting lodge and the surrounding forest in the field. The castle lost its residential function at the beginning of the 19th century, the nature reserve was abolished a hundred years later. Reconstruction in the second half of the 20th century returned the dilapidated mansion to its former Gothic-Renaissance form. Currently, you can choose from two tour routes to visit the castle. They will guide you through the Gothic and Renaissance palaces, their interiors and introduce you to the overall history of the building. The second route leads through a small walkway with an exhibition of Czech ghosts, a castle chapel or an exhibition and botanical hall. The castle tower with valuable Renaissance wall paintings and period furniture is also accessible to the public. In good weather, you can enjoy the view of the surrounding countryside.

The octagonal chapel was built in 1663 by Countess Františka Slavatová as a thank you to God. The year before, her son, the young count Karel Jáchym Slavata, went hunting alone and fell into a 5 m deep wolf pit in these places. He couldn't get out and it wasn't until the next day that farmers from nearby Vanovo found him here. This event was captured by a contemporary artist on the ceiling of the chapel. Later, the way of the cross was built, which leads to the chapel from Telč, and the building was adapted to the chapel of the Holy Sepulchre.
