Extremely well preserved, Claregalway Friary was built and developed during the 13th and 15th centuries. It is possible to explore the Abbey for free and marvel at the medieval architecture. Information boards give more detail on its history.

Built in 1499, it was destroyed just a short time later in 1504 with further damage inflicted in the 17th century. Built by the O'Kelly family the ruin if the tower house are easily visible from the road.

Over the top of the children's playground you can see the ruins of the Church of Ireland Monivea. Consecrated in 1769, all that remains today is the belltower. The roof of the church collapsed in 1955 after it fell out of use in the 1920s.
