Czahary Educational Trail

Highlight • Trail

The "Czahary" educational trail is a great proposition of the Poleski National Park to learn the secrets of the tracks and visit the largest peat bog of the Park: Bagno Bubnów.
The route is approximately 6.5 kilometers long and starts in the town of Zastawie at the observation tower. You can leave your car there, but if you are traveling with a disabled person, there is also another parking lot available, right next to the place where the footbridges begin. The paths are adapted for wheelchairs and strollers.

If you don't feel up to it, the route can be shortened by about 1.5 kilometers (alternative route), but I sincerely recommend walking the entire route, bird watching (cranes, birds with the coat of arms of the Polesie National Park love this place) and relaxing in this charming environment . Maybe you'll also see a moose if you're lucky?

Remember that admission to the path is subject to a fee, you can buy a ticket at the Educational and Administrative Center and the Educational and Museum Center, as well as via the eParki.pl platform at poleskipn.eparki.pl.

Dominik Oak

The Dominik Oak is an impressive, over 300-year-old pedunculate oak, after which the path in the Poleski National Park that you are walking along is named after. The oak was named in honor of prof. Dr. hab. Dominik Fijałkowski, who has been creating reserves in Polesie for years.

The path is very easy, perfect for walking with little ones, but it can be crowded on weekends.

Remember that entry to the path is subject to a fee, you can buy a ticket at the Educational and Administrative Center and the Educational and Museum Center, as well as via the eParki.pl platform at poleskipn.eparki.pl.

Dołhobrody Observation Tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

The tower overlooks the surrounding fields, the tower itself is located on a hill, which improves the view of the surrounding area. The entrance to the tower is quite steep and it rocks a bit. Beautiful view, almost no buildings.

Orthodox Cemetery in Wytyczno

Highlight • Historical Site

The Orthodox cemetery in Wytyczno dates back to the 20th century and is distinguished by the tombstone of Father Michał Somik (d. 1909) and forged, metal and cast iron crosses. The first mention of the village dates back to 1450, and in 1769 a Greek Catholic church of the Holy Cross was founded here, which was demolished in 1938 as part of the government's campaign to destroy churches in Podlasie and Chełmszczyzna. The current wooden Catholic church was built in 1949 from a dismantled Evangelical "kirch". The Orthodox cemetery belongs to the parish in Włodawa and serves the small Orthodox population that remained after the displacements of 1944-47.

Włodawa Market Square

Highlight • Settlement

Włodawa is a charming city located in the Lublin Voivodeship, in the eastern part of Poland. It is located on the Bug River, which is a natural border between Poland and Belarus. It is a place that delights with its history, culture and natural beauty. The Old Market Square with its tenement houses is a place where you can feel the historical atmosphere of the city. In the summer, there is a fountain, and you can take a souvenir photo in the "I love Włodawa" frame.

The Border Protection Corps Monument in Wytyczno-Łowiszów commemorates the battle fought on October 1, 1939 by KOP soldiers with Soviet troops. It is an important historical site, reminding us of the heroism of Polish soldiers in defending the country's eastern borders during the September Campaign. The monument is located in a picturesque, forested area, near Lake Wytyczno, which makes it an interesting destination for cyclists exploring Polesie.

My favorite part of the "Spławy" nature trail, where we can walk dry through the swamps of the Polesie National Park. These are wooden footbridges that lead us to the viewpoint of Lake Łukie. The path is adapted for people in wheelchairs and strollers.

The path leads through a beautiful, green forest, you can breathe fresh air and enjoy nature. You may also come across "houses" for insects.

Beach on Lake Białe

Highlight • Beach

Lake Białe, located next to Okuninka, is probably the most famous and popular lake in the Łęczyńsko-Włodawskie Lake District. The developed infrastructure also attracts tourists from other parts of Poland. But let's remember that Lake Białe is not only a holiday destination, but also close to the Sobibór Landscape Park.

Today, the only remains of the Pociej and Zamoyski residences in Różanka are half-collapsed and overgrown fragments of huge palace basements and a large, 12-hectare park on the slope of the Bug valley, surrounded by a brick wall.
The park is the remains of a French garden from the early 18th century, converted into an English park in the first half of the 19th century.
