The Rococo stone sculpture depicting the Archangel Michael was created around 1771-1772 by the brothers Jan and Jakub Maucher, commissioned by the Zamość entail. Between 1823 and 1825, it was dismantled, along with a second sculpture of St. Florian, and transported to the Nowa Osada area (today's Nowe Miasto), on Ogrodowa Street. Now, after renovation by Zamość conservator Łukasz Bulewicz, the sculpture has returned to the Szczebrzeska Gate. Representatives of the city authorities and residents attended the ceremonial unveiling. Source: https://www.kronikatygodnia.pl/artykul/30452,zamosc-michal-archaniol-wracal
